I see Paris, I see France, I see Boris’ underpants

I see Paris, I see France, I see Boris' underpants

And now you've seen them too.

The long school year came to a close, lasting from September through convocation in early June. I’m happy to report that I am still, in fact, alive. I have not turned completely into a zombie as of this time. It’s also been a while since my last post, as I was hard at work through May on a research project which involved far too many all-nighters and waking up at weird hours.

The result of my year at COGS is that I now have an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Sciences to stack on top of my Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies. More paper… expensive paper. I have a specialization in GIS, which means, for the sake of brevity, that I can use a bunch of software to store, retrieve, or analyze data (which could be in a database) and project that data onto a digital map or globe. I took this course with the intention of eventually taking a Masters in Planning, and I still believe that may be somewhere just over the horizon.

In the short term, I’ve got all my stuff packed up and am shipping it back to Alberta until I figure out my destination (for employment… or more school). If I end up with a more extended stay, I’d probably like to get back into the local communities in Calgary and do some volunteering if opportunities arise.

Now, as for the short-short term, and pertinent to this article (given the title) myexcursion this summer is to Paris. I expect a lot of photos and impressions. I will probably be making a review post like I did for my previous summer destinations. Oh, and BTW, you can now find many of my photos on my new Flickr account (the Picasa one is still linked for now, but I haven’t updated it).
